I received the Mookaite and Lava stone bracelet and it is absolutely stunning. The images of it on LovePray’s website are beautiful, but it is even more beautiful in person. The beads are cut in a way to accent their sparkle and the stones chosen are harmonious with one another. The lava stones are a medium brown with gold shimmer, rather than the black lava stones that many other companies use. They compliment the gemstones nicely. Lovepray features a small metal ‘tag’ on their jewelry with their brand name on it. I wish more companies did this. I’ve been asked tons of other times where some of my jewelry is from, and I can’t for the life of me remember.
It’s a fairly durable piece as I have had no issues with breakage or structural integrity while wearing it to work, yoga and relax. However, it is a piece I take extra care to ensure my toddler doesn’t have access too.
A beautiful piece all on its own, you can also use it as a personal diffuser. Simply place 1-2 drops of your chosen oil on the lava stone and the oil will slowly dissipate into the air throughout the day. The scent will gradually fade over time, with stronger scents (peppermint, eucalyptus, Wintergreen, etc) lasting longer, however I have noticed quite a few oils have lingered well into the next day, though obviously not as strong as when they are first applied to the bracelet.
It’s a great way to apply oils that may cause photosensitivity (such as certain citrus oils) or other oils you would not apply NEAT (without a carrier oil). Since the beads are worn on the skin, users with sensitive skin may consider diluting essential oils with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut, avocado, or jojoba oil since the oils on the beads will touch the users’ skin.

Have you had any trouble with your lava beads leaving black marks on your skin? Mine is staining my wrist every time I apply oil, even if I leave it to dry before I put the bracelet on.
I haven’t had that problem! So weird. Is it staining a green color or the color of the bead?
It’s the color of the lava bead (black). Someone even thought I had bruises on my wrist and asked if I needed help lol. I did some more research and I think I was just putting too much oil on. I was doing like 9-10 drops and I think I’m only supposed to do 2-3.
Do you think the bead could have been dyed or had a glaze on it that’s doing that?
And yes, only a couple drops are needed. I can usually get away with just one. 🙂
That’s quite possible. It’s a pretty low quality bracelet that I got for free at a promotion. I don’t even know if it’s real lava.
It may be a manmade ‘lava’ stone which is usually made from concrete.
