My 6 month old has been extra grumpy lately. Between mommy going back to work, a sleep regression, a noisy toddler brother and getting in some new teeth, I’d be grumpy too! Although I can’t solve all of her problems, I was able to help soothe her sore gums with some herbal teething breast milk popsicles. Most people are familiar with the idea of milk popsicles for teething, but by adding herbs, such as a baby safe herbal tea, we are able to add an extra boost of herbal power.

*Note: Frozen milk and ice can become a choking hazard for young children if pieces break off and get lodged in their throat. For this reason, I suggest using a silicon feeder. This recipe however, can be made without one.*
Herbal Teething Milk Tea Popsicle Ingredients
- 5 Oz Breastmilk (If less is used, steep for a shorter amount of time)
- 1 Satchel Baby Friendly Tea such as Earth Mama Organics Peaceful Mama Tea
- 4 OZ breastmilk or alternative
- Ice Cube Mold
- Silicon or Mesh Baby Feeder (Pictured is the Munchkin Feeder)
Directions
Bring breast milk to a soft boil. Remove from heat. Steep tea bag for 1-3 minutes. Steeping longer will create a stronger flavor; I suggest steeping for a short amount and building up to a stronger flavor for babies. Pour mixture into ice molds and freeze at least 3 hours. Place popsicle inside the baby feeder.
Now you’re baby can chomp on something that isn’t you! 😉
